We’re Hiring!

📍 Near Winchester
🕒 Monday to Friday – No weekends

A varied, hands-on administrative role in a classic car restoration workshop.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, easy-going and reliable person to join our team as an Administrator at our classic car restoration company.

We work on a wide variety of vehicles, from pre-war classics and post-war icons through to modern classics from the early 2000s. Our workshop is a busy, hands-on environment, and we’re looking for someone who can help keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

This is a varied role that goes well beyond a traditional office job. You’ll be involved in the day-to-day running of the business, supporting the workshop team, communicating with customers and suppliers, keeping on top of the paperwork and helping manage our online presence.

The role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Office administration: Managing day-to-day office tasks, records and timesheets.
  • Customer liaison: Handling calls, enquiries and customer updates.
  • Diary management: Coordinating schedules, servicing, inspections and compliance requirements.
  • Social media and website: Maintaining online content and showcasing workshop projects.
  • Accounts: Raising invoices, bookkeeping using Xero, and assisting with payroll and VAT returns.
  • Parts and suppliers: Ordering parts, managing deliveries and handling returns.

The role will suit someone who enjoys variety, can manage their own workload and is comfortable switching between different tasks throughout the day. You might be updating the website one minute, speaking to a customer the next, then sorting an invoice or chasing a parts order.

About you

We’re looking for someone with a positive attitude who is willing to get stuck in and learn.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Good organisational skills and an eye for detail.
  • A friendly, confident and professional telephone manner.
  • Good written communication skills.
  • A practical, flexible approach and the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Basic computer skills and confidence using everyday office software.
  • The ability to work independently while being part of a small team.

Previous administrative experience would be an advantage, but it’s not essential. We’re happy to provide training for the right person, so a good attitude, willingness to learn and common sense are just as important as previous experience.

An interest in cars, and particularly classic cars, would be a big plus. You don’t need to be a mechanic, but some understanding of the automotive world would certainly help you settle into the role and enjoy the environment.

Hours and working arrangements

  • Working hours: 8:30am–5:30pm.
  • Lunch break: One hour unpaid.
  • Working days: Currently Monday to Thursday, with no weekend work.
  • Number of days: Four days per week as the current arrangement, although we’re open to discussing three or five days depending on the needs of the business and the right candidate.
  • Pay: National Minimum Wage (NMW), we’re happy to discuss this with the right person.

We appreciate that everyone has different commitments, so there is some flexibility around which days are worked and how the week is structured. The current arrangement is Monday to Thursday, but we’re open to a conversation about what might work best for both sides.

What we offer

  • A relaxed, friendly and practical working environment.
  • A genuinely varied role with plenty of opportunity to learn new skills.
  • Exposure to a wide range of interesting classic and historic vehicles.
  • The chance to become an important part of a small team and contribute to the day-to-day running of the business.
  • Flexible working arrangements for the right person, within the needs of the business.

Interested?

If you’re organised, approachable, enjoy variety and like the idea of working in a classic car restoration environment, we’d love to hear from you.

You don’t need to tick every box or have years of office experience. If you’re keen to learn, happy to get involved and enjoy being part of a team where everyone mucks in, this could be the role for you.

If you have any questions or want to apply please drop us your CV to info@pittlane.co.uk

We look forward to hearing from you!
